DNE

As I sit in calculus, I read the note he left in my car for the hundredth time: I’m so sorry I cheated on you. Forgive me? I sit there and tear my own heart out because of him. My love for him reaches infinity, and it hurts that he can never feel the same. My love has to have limits. It must. Right? I can’t do this again and again.

Mrs. Forest calls on me to solve the problem. I look up at the parabolas, and I know the answer in my heart.

“The limit does not exist.”
