Leaf

-after Emily Dickinson

Hope is the thing that falls in Autumn—

That falls from an oak tree

And floats in the air majestically—

But sometimes hope does not feed itself

Like a green leaf stops Photosynthesis—

A green tint to yellow then orange

But autumn fades away—

Back to a green tint.
