Hook to the fish

With its sharp crevices

and metal condensed onto one item.

It's a trap— one function only.

The hook is functionally deceitful.

A senseless fish smells the bate

and usually falls for the deceit

without a doubt in its mind.

It wasn't a prey as he expected.

As he gasps for one last breath

his thoughts are filled with regret.
