As I wondered where I went wrong
We were attached at the hip—
like sisters one could say.
We did everything together.
We would skip around the playground
and laugh as we went down
the big red slide,
side by side.
We made music videos
thinking our dancing was good
and had multiple sleepovers in a row,
staying up until the bags were so big under our eyes
that we had no choice but to close them.
But then one day
you stopped coming.
You stopped responding
and I became nothing but a memory
that floated away into the clouds
like ashes in the wind.
