BLM
I am not black, but I'm aware of what you're going through.
I am not black, but I see the injustice that you face.
I am not black, but I see the fear for your sons and daughters.
I am not black, but I will stand with you.
Black lives matter.
Due to systemic racism I repeat again, black lives matter.
"I can't breathe." Those are some of the last few words that left George Floyd's mouth as his murderer engraved his knee into his neck that blocked his airway, letting no oxygen enter his body and eventually killing him.
George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Philando Castile
Do you know why I must state these names?
They're names that must never be forgotten.
Names that have left a mark on the world.
Names that belong to people that meant no harm.
Names that received no justice.
Names that were killed because they were black and how dare they be black and live in America.
THIS IS AMERICA the supposed land where there is liberty and justice for all.
But to be honest I do not see any of this so-called justice.
Why is it that when a white boy shoots up a church and kills 9 people he gets arrested peacefully, but when a black man is suspected of forgery he gets choked to death.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
Though I do not condone violence but, is this what needs to happen for these murders to get enough media coverage.
NO JUSTICE NO PEACE
This is America where black people live in fear 24/7.
This is America where most police officers don't get charged with crime when they've killed someone.
This is America where black people are 3x more likely to be killed by police than white people.
This is America where white people can show up to the capitol with guns and have no fear for their lives.
This is America where you can die simply because of the color of your skin.
Tu lucha es mi lucha.
I promise to stand up against racism whenever and wherever I see it.
And as Martin Luther King Jr. said "In the end we will remember not the words of our enemies , but the silence of our friends."
