The Silence of the Stars

What knocks me out is Earth at night,

When city lights give way to light

That travels ages just to gleam

On silent hills and silver stream.

The hush between the breeze and pine,

The way the moon begins to shine—

As if the planet holds its breath

To honor time, to honor death.

The stars—my god—the stars don’t shout,

They hum a truth we’ve lived without.

And standing small beneath that dome,

I feel both lost and wholly home.

So knock me out, dear Earth, once more,

With quiet skies I can’t ignore.

No thunder needed, no grand show—

Just stars above, and peace below.
