Laced in White
A pearl hiding in the deep depths
of the ocean, with seashells being washed ashore.
Meanwhile, swans sail silently across the surface.
And daisy petals delicately dance—
with no blizzard in sight.
A candle is lit as I watch the flurries fall from my window.
The warm wax under the flame slowly melts downwards
while I lay under my lace trimmed blanket.
Hunger waves over me, craving
vanilla cupcakes with sweet vanilla frosting swirled
on top.
Later, my notebook waits for my thoughts to unravel
and spill out the words wandering in my head.
The days pass by slowly as I stare at the clock,
waiting to hear the next tick from the hands.
What feels like hours is only minutes.
As I enter the hallways, my sneakers guide through crowds,
allowing me to create my own path.
A blank canvas awaits me, allowing me to splatter
color onto the emptiness.
