Drifting Away

We started so strong,

Heading the same way.

Everyone tried their best.

Even when it got tough,

We kept going.

Then water got in.

We ignored it.

The cracks were small.

The boat still held.

We fixed what we could

Using what we had.

But it kept breaking.

And one by one—

They gave up.

They floated off—

Without looking back.

I stayed.

Not because I believed,

but because I couldn’t leave.

I was too tired

And too far gone.
