A Delicate Bruise

Tides swayin’ slowly

above the twinkling night sky.

The serenity of the moon lit atmosphere fills me—

illuminating the flecks of diamonds embedded in my hair.

My pale skin and cyanotic veins glow.

Midnight shines like a frozen glacier dancin’ with the lights,

revealing the tear drops streaming down my face— I am a shattered vase.

Typical bruises painted on my skin like Starry Night.

Yet I blossom under the lunar glare,

a translucent vessel exposed, just as petals who bloom at dusk.

Whispers as light as the weightless tint of crystals lure me,

reminding me, my heart is as soft as an angels feathers

or as cotton candy clouds.

In the midst of darkness, a light shines.

from phytoplankton lighting up the sea at night,

to the twilight zone during the summer solstice.

The ethereal night sky mirrored itself in my starry-eyes—luminescent sapphires,

Glowing as though they had captured the last ultraviolet rays of twilight.

I am a euphoric Lotus—illuminating like crushed lapis stones

floating and blooming in the dark, empty waters of chaos.

Apomorphine carries me into the blissful unknowing.

At dawn, I blithefully blossom my star-like petals;

I sink once more into the crystalline water,

surrendering to sleep at last, at dusk.
