From La Catrina

She sweeps across

red canyon rock

and through

coyote bones

moving between

ivory sand

and indigo.

Tickling marigold

petals whistling

against twisted stone

she settles in dark places.

Calavera paint

melts against

the dancing fire

and is wiped

away with

her fated kiss-

For her

there are no names

there are no faces

we are all skeletons.
