Not Really the Right Word
As I toss my toothbrush on the top of my suitcase I try to remember where it all went wrong, but I can’t place the exact moment when I realized I no longer loved you. I think it was just a steady progression from love to indifference. Maybe we just didn’t work. After all, I was lightning, you were a lightning bug. I was heartbreak, you were heartache. I was a tiger, you were a tiger lily. I was a storm, you were a drizzle. I was alluring, you were attractive. I was a setback, you were a failure. I was pride, you were vanity. We had a bad case of lethologica. We were the same, but we just didn’t quite fit.
