The bed creaked as I sat on blue And white satin sheets and started writing, my wrists moving swiftly The snake slithering slowly in her golden tank the scales on her body glittering I wonder if she is content with solitude. Rainbow holiday lights glow on my stairs Old sports trophies collect dust on my dresser GIving them a grayish look. Ink darkens my hand and blots my white lined paper In the corner my grandmother’s rosary Flashing ruby, emerald and opal onto my walls. Her name etched into the cross Like her memory in my heart
