Locked in A Cycle
The keys jingle
in the woman's hand.
The keychains and 10
keys all clank against each other.
Dragged back and forth from place to place
from home, to work, to the supermarket.
Never leaving her side
wondering where they could go,
longing for freedom.
As the woman arrives home,
they lay their teeth on
a window
with bright glass panes
and open doors.
As she walks through the door she
frantically throws them on a loose hook
they fall,
run through the window
and the whole world is theirs.
