Carnival Ride

I taste the sweet cotton candy cloud as

I swing around the merry go round.

My food wants to come out and see the view.

The ride starts to die and comes to a full stop.

I drunkenly stumble off

and make my way to the Ferris wheel.

I barely get onto the next ride and

I am lifted into the sky.

My legs dangle through the air.

The stars are sparkling,

dancing next to each other.

I look down to see the people,

small as a funnel cake I just ate.

My friends wave from below

and I wave back to them,

thinking “this is a memory to save”.

The wheel starts to squeal as it slowly

goes down.
