Untitled

The chiming ripple of the A.M bell sounds throughout my entire high school. Random patriotism within several students immediately sparks as the morning routine kicks in. Groaning teenagers dread the expected “Please rise." Kids around me tower into tall loyal statues as I remain still, below them. Glaring eyes stare into me, stunned by my behavior—almost as though I committed treason. Some admirers gossip with envy, unaware that they have a choice. An allegiance that is repeated with ignorance and insincerity is not one to be a part of. But who am I to stop them? Let them continue this pattern. Without it, they’d be lost.
