Physics II

Mr. Striker's dull voice and lack of enthusiasm leave me staring at a smart board with words and symbols I do not know. What thermodynamic process is this? I soon fade out until I hear familiar jargon. "An engine," I hear him say, "generates enough heat through convection so we need to use PV=nRT and then..." But all I can think of is her—the one with the dark red top and glistening face, sitting in the back parking lot. She's waiting for me turn her key, start her 427 Big Black engine, rev her Army Works exhaust, and short-shift her torque-converted low-gear dual clutch until we see water. I go faster and faster, as the sun blasts off her low windshield and into my eyes until I realize—class is over.
