Elbow Room

It’s a matter of prioritizing what to keep. A small room only fits so many special rocks and found objects from preschool. Throwing things away, that's how to make space. Spelling bee pendants trashed, collections of wooden beads scrapped, so no one wades through piles of sentimentals and collectors' items. Think of Kane and his illustrious Xanadu; all that room and he didn't even have enough space to breath. It’s not like I’m not a collector myself however, I collect all the time: polite smiles in hallways, whispered disdain, shy eye contact. Accessories to a lifestyle of elbow room.
