Safe Haven

The box, covered with dust in a dark desolate attic. Mouse droppings littered across the ground around it and a beam of light shines through a crack in the roof. The box stained hazel with tears on the bottom allowing rats to create a home. Hiding from the feisty black cat that preys in the house below. The rat’s journey through the attic is a dangerous one. Creeping through the unknown darkness trying to reach the safe haven, the box. A solid beam of the moon's light shining on it, creating a beacon of hope for the ones that dare.
