Road Report

I drive. The road splits the desolate fields that

surround me. The sun beams down on the car.

I'm alone, with nothing in sight.

I feel the emptiness engulf me as I drive.

I see the dust flying through the air.

The open road ahead of me disappearing on the horizon,

almost like a mirage of what was once there.

The only things I hear are the engine roaring like a lion,

the radio crackling like oil in a scolding pan,

and the air whistling through the

open windows as I drive. I check my phone.

"30 more miles" it says. 30 more miles.
