Loneliness is an Empty House

The bathroom,

With only one toothbrush.

The dinner table,

With only one place setting.

The bed,

With a dip on the left side,

Not having been slept in on the right.

The photos,

Hanging lifelessly on the wall,

Of people who do not come by anymore.

The phone,

That has been unplugged,

As it does not ring anymore.

The sad smiles,

And pitiful glances,

Offered by neighbors.

The silence in the night,

Unbroken when morning comes.
