Your Finest Day

It was the way that the waves broke and hit the shore, the way the land broke off of the rugged coastline and the way the sun reflected off of the water, which brought people here. I stand on the side of my beat up, black ’97 Ford Explorer to un-tie the straps that hold my surfboard down to the roof. As this tall, blonde-haired man walks by me, graciously saying, “Beautiful day today, ain’t it?”

“Oh, oh yes it is” gingerly replying to the man.

As I sit there thinking to myself, wow, it really is nice out.
