On The Parking Lot Ground
Side by side I saw you sitting there.
Red flesh so vibrant
against the black pavement.
You were in perfect condition,
unmarred unblemished and utterly perfect,
your one and only flaw was being on the ground,
abandoned and alone, left to be tarnished.
As I glanced at you, I thought
that there was nothing more beautiful
and so tragic
as two strawberries lying.
